It’s always surprising how much work non-fiction writing is. This isn’t my first rodeo, but it takes months and months.
The good news is — with a co-author — I don’t have to wrangle examples into shape. I think examples are the hardest part of writing about software. Not too complex. No “foo” or “bar” (an odd tradition.) And focused on the topic. Without being simplistic.
Final chapter is (almost) done.
First half-dozen chapters have been through the deep technical review. Comments have been addressed.
It will be a few more months.
Distance has given me a view of the Red Knight’s squires. Their personal agendas have (slowly) begun to become more abrasive and aggressive.
Mostly because I couldn’t quite remember some characterizations. I needed new ones. Simpler ones. Darker ones.
