This is about writing in remote places, not the weird seance trick of having writing appear on a slate or paper that's been tied up in knots to prevent tampering.
I have the privilege of working in a wide variety of places. Hotel, Boat. Park.
All it takes Is a little bit of planning. The forethought to actually put my computer into a backpack and bring it with me.
Sadly, I seem to lack that foresight.
my partner is a birder, making me the SOB (spouse of birder). It's very nice to hang around scenic spaces, casually birding, or, maybe writing. If I could only remember to bring a computer.
Today, for example, I'm in a great park with a few hours to work, and I left the computer at home. I’ve got backup power and everything waiting in the truck. But. No. Computer.
I've got an iPad. And a phone.
Lessons learned.
- Always bring the computer iPad
- Put headphones/earbuds in the iPAD bag.
- Sync all the active Scrivener protects with the iPad.
- Bring the extra keyboard in the iPad bag.
I think I'll wander down some more of the hiking trails.
