I've been fiddling around with setups for writing on the road.
Clearly, dragging the laptop around gives the most flexibility and computing power. But. It's kind of bulky and fragile.
An alternative is an iPad and a keyboard.
The hard part is getting the iPad to an elevation that avoids hunching over it.
Right now, this seems pretty good.
-
A Logitech "Keys to go" keyboard. It's advantage is being VERY small.
-
A 12 South Hoverbar stand.
I can get the display up high, making it easy to use for longer durations.
I have an Apple Magic Keyboard which, I think, might be as portable as the Logitech. I know it's slightly larger, but I think it's slightly easier to use.
